So I removed the non-syncing account, went through the process of entering credentials and 2fa, selected don't ask again, and get returned to the settings menu. I switched from Android to IPhone about 5 years ago, have moved everything over except for email, I still use Gmail including using the Gmail app. I’d really like to switch to iCloud email (whatever it’s called… sorry) but the thought of changing email address just doesn’t appeal. Unless the phone comes with an app locker, it's not advisable to use any third party apps for such tasks. Those apps can track too much information with their access level. It's not safe.
